About Me

I'm Jean Ramsey married for 30 years and my husband a Me and My daughters Helen and Emma nd I have two wonderful daughters who are now 25 and 20. I have been a teacher in Oxfordshire schools for over 30 years. I have worked with and supported literally thousands of young people and their families. In all that time I was coaching I just didn't realize that's what it was called.

We have survived the half past eight syndrome when I turned from yummy mummy into the wicked witch if the west as I wrestled the toddler to get her shoes on; gouged the peanut butter out of the recorder; retrieved the 'artwork' from the bin and buttoned the 6 year old's coat on back to front all in an effort to catch the school bus.

Now our daughters are older, parenting isn't any easier. The challenges are just different but no less traumatic. Now it is all CV's and Personal Statements and coaching them through mock interviews and lots and lots of tea and sympathy. BUT NOW I have all these fantastic coaching strategies at my finger tips. We can really enjoy each other's company and have wonderfully grown up conversations. We focus on the fun not the fighting!

I have an Advanced Diploma in Personal Development from the Coaching Academy; I have trained with Lorraine Thomas of the Parent Coaching Academy and I am an accredited Youth Coach, licenced to deliver the M A G I C program. I am also a Dawn Breslin accredited confidence coach. I know how to pace myself; to be my own best friend; that the worst vice is Advice and to go on feelings finding expeditions not fact finding ones. Now I know that respectful communication is the key to all family relationships.

I am passionate about spreading the coaching word and am part of a master group whose mission is to get a coach in every school...watch this space!
